Pollydot for customers – how it works
1. Posting an ad
- Posting an ad is free.
- You clearly describe what you need and how much you are willing to pay for it.
2. Payment & security
- You pay the agreed amount upfront to Pollydot.
- The money is securely held by Pollydot until the ad is completed correctly.
- The payment is never sent directly to the handyman.
- This ensures you only pay for properly completed work.
3. Handyman proposals
- Pollydot proposes suitable handymans based on your ad and location.
- You decide who you want to work with.
- If no one responds within the agreed time, the ad automatically expires.
4. Cancelling an ad
- Within 24 hours after posting: free cancellation, full refund.
- After a handyman has been assigned:
- Pollydot only retains the fixed platform commission.
- The handyman receives a small reservation fee.
- The remaining amount is refunded to you.
5. Ad execution
- Date and time are agreed directly with the handyman.
- The price is all-in: no hidden costs or surprises afterwards.
- Additional work is only carried out with your explicit approval.
6. Approval & payment release
- After completion, you approve the ad via Pollydot.
- Once approved, the handyman is paid by Pollydot.
- If you do not respond within 24 hours, the payment is automatically released.
7. Customer protection
- Was the ad not completed or poorly executed?
- Then (part of) the payment will not be released.
- Pollydot reviews the situation and makes a fair decision for both parties.
- Your money remains protected until the ad is completed correctly.
8. Reviews
After completion, both parties can leave a review.
This helps keep the platform reliable and transparent.
9. What is not allowed
- Sharing contact details before the ad is confirmed.
- Payments outside of Pollydot.
- Making agreements outside the platform.
These rules exist to protect all users.
10. Everything goes through Pollydot
Pollydot is the only official channel for:
- payments
- approvals
- disputes
- support
This prevents misunderstandings and issues.
